The CMS Collaboration announces several new results for the Higgs 2026 conference.
The CMS Collaboration presents a broad spectrum of new results at the Higgs 2026 conference in Louvain, Belgium. These cover precision measurements of the Higgs boson’s properties, cross section measurements across a wide range of final states, searches for rare Higgs boson decays, and explorations of Higgs boson pair production, which provides a probe of the Higgs boson self-coupling and the shape of the Higgs potential.
Among the highlights is a new determination of the Higgs boson mass, combining earlier measurements in the H → γγ and H → ZZ → 4ℓ channels, reaching an unprecedented precision of better than 100 MeV [HIG-26-010].
Two new searches for di-Higgs production, in the HH → WWZZ and HH → bbWW channels, with Run 3 data have been presented. For the first time, a search for the HH → WWZZ decay is performed in final states with up to five leptons [HIG-25-005], adding to the spectrum of decay channels considered by CMS in HH searches. The results are furthermore used to set upper limits on the inclusive pp → WWZZ cross section.
The search for the HH → bbWW decay is performed in final states with one lepton [HIG-25-022], and benefits from improved machine-learning-based jet-flavour tagging algorithms and event classification strategies. In combination with an earlier search in the two-lepton final state, the most stringent constraints on the Higgs boson self-coupling in the bbWW channel to-date are obtained.
Here is a list of our results presented at the conference. Details of the papers and briefings will be added throughout the week.
