The Executive Board is chaired by the Spokesperson and its composition is defined by the Management Board and approved by the Collaboration Board. It is more compact and meets more often than the Management Board. The Management Board is more concerned with strategic planning while the Executive Board is concerned primarily with day to day tactical operation of CMS. The Executive Board executes the decisions of the Management Board through the authority of the Spokesperson. Any substantive change to operational procedures proposed by the Executive Board must be brought to the Management Board for approval or for recommendation to the Collaboration Board as appropriate.
