Every year, the PhD Thesis Award recognizes and rewards excellence in PhD thesis research.
Every June, the collaboration recognizes outstanding PhD theses submitted the year prior (August 1 to July 31.) A committee appointed by the Collaboration Board Chair judges the theses on their content, originality, clarity of writing, and impact. All topics related to CMS are eligible (physics analysis, simulation, computing, detector development, engineering, etc.).
The call for nominations for the CMS PhD Thesis Award opens in October and the awardees are announced the following June.
