By CMS Collaboration

It's time to shine a light on the 2023 CMS award winners! Each year, the CMS Award committee recognises outstanding contributions from members of the CMS Collaboration, honouring their dedication to the performance of CMS sub-detectors and, therefore, the CMS experiment!

This year, we'd like to extend a special recognition to the RD53 Collaboration. This dedicated group is responsible for the development of the ATLAS and CMS phase2 inner tracker readout chips. For the CMS project, this vital chip is known as the CROC.

“The success of the CMS experiment depends on its collaborators and on their commitment. The CMS awards celebrate this year the hard work that was done by our collaborators both on the operations and on the upgrades to ensure the success of the present and future detector.” - CMS Awards Committee chairs.
